Elaisha Stokes is a filmmaker and educator based in Toronto, Canada. She has directed episodic work for the New York Times, National Geographic, VICE, CBS, Al Jazeera and CNN. Her short films have screened at international film festivals, including BFI London, Maryland, Brooklyn, and London Shorts. Elaisha was a 2017 Sundance New Voices Fellow and has participated twice in the Cine Qua Non Screenwriting Labs. Her work has been recognized by the International Reporting Project, the DuPont Awards, and the Emmy Foundation. She was recognized by DocNYC as a 2024 Documentary New Leader. Elaisha was a 2025 Flaherty Seminar Fellow. Elaisha has served on pitch panels for international film festivals, including CPH Doc, Hot Docs and the Camden International Film Festival, where she was also a member of their 2024 shorts jury.
